How well do you know each other?

Short version: Fess is a party game for friends. Hosting a game needs a subscription, bought in the app; guests always play free. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple or Google account. Your 3 included decks are permanent, and decks you buy are yours to keep, to play whenever you host with a subscription. Be kind to the people you play with. Fess is made for fun, and AI scores can be wrong.
Fess is made by Postmark Digital (“we”). These terms cover the Fess app for iPhone and Android and the web version at playfess.com. By playing Fess or buying anything in it, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy, which explains what happens to your information.
If you got Fess from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play’s terms apply to your purchases. Apple and Google aren’t responsible for Fess or for supporting it: we are.
Each deck says who it’s for: Adults decks are for players 17 and older, and Family decks are made for kids 8 and up to play with their grown-ups. A host chooses decks that suit everyone in the room. Subscribing and buying decks are for adults, or for younger people with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
You’re responsible for what you type: your nickname, answers, guesses and chat messages. Everyone in your game sees them. Don’t use Fess to harass, threaten or bully anyone; to post hateful, sexually explicit or illegal content; to share other people’s private information; or to spam. Don’t try to break, overload or get around the limits of Fess, or use bots in other people’s games. A host can remove players from the lobby. If someone breaks these rules, tell us at the address below with the room code, and we may end games or stop someone using Fess.
Written answers can be scored by Claude, an AI model, if the players allow it. Scores are a guess at how close each answer is, made for fun, and they can be wrong. Nothing about you is decided by them.
Fess, its cards, decks, designs, sounds and name belong to Postmark Digital. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Fess for playing with the people you know, not for commercial use. Please don’t copy or publish the decks, or copy, change or take apart the app.
We keep improving Fess, so features can change. We’ll try to keep it running, but it may sometimes be unavailable. If we ever stop offering Fess, we’ll stop new subscriptions and renewals first, and say so in the app and on this site.
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change makes things worse for subscribers, we’ll tell you in the app before it applies to you, and it won’t apply to a period you’ve already paid for.
Fess is provided as it is, and as far as the law allows we don’t promise it will always work or be free of errors. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for losses you couldn’t have expected, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law doesn’t let us limit, such as your rights as a consumer.
You can stop using Fess at any time: cancel your subscription and delete the app. We can suspend or end your use of Fess if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Colorado, without regard to rules about which law applies. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Colorado, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it somewhere else. If you live outside the United States, for example in the UK or the EU, you keep the protection of your own country’s consumer laws and can bring a claim there.
